Guide to RallyCross

If you are new to RallyCross, this is the place to start. Below you will find tips for having a great time at your first event, as well as a guide to what will be going on throughout the day. 

Get to know a RallyCross Event...

Check-In

Check-In

Stop at the Check-In tent to verify your registration, sign our waiver, and receive a wrist band. You will receive a schedule, site map, and we will answer any questions that you may have!

Check-In

Park your vehicle and unload anything in the vehicle that is not secured. This is also the place to unload your vehicle from your trailer.

Tech Inspection

Stay with your vehicle while the Tech Inspector performs the inspection to ensure your vehicle is fit to race. Details can be found in the RallyCross rule book linked at the bottom of this page.

At around 8:00 A.M. there will be a guided course walk to make sure that you are familiar with the course layout for the day. Ask any questions that you may have and it is encouraged that you walk the course multiple times.

Drivers' Meeting

During the meeting, pay attention to important safety topics, schedule changes, and ask any questions that you may have about any and all aspects of the event. Morning and afternoon run groups will be assigned in the meeting.

During your run-group, line up according to how the grid captain directs you and await your turn to enter the course. Stay with your vehicle to ensure the event runs smoothly and efficiently.

Maneuver your vehicle around the cones  safely and quickly to set the best time on the course. Be aware of course workers waving a red flag indicating an unsafe condition on the course and for you to bring your vehicle to a stop safely.

During the run group in which your are not driving, you will have a responsibilities as a course worker. Other roles include helping with timing, grid, start, and the check-in tent.

Part way through the run group, we will pause for course maintenance. As the conditions of the course change throughout the day, we will asses any changes that need to be made to keep drivers and course workers safe.

In addition to maintaining the course, we will periodically water to keep the dust levels down.

If you need to perform maintenance or repairs on your vehicle, ensure that you use jack stands and a piece of wood in order to have a stable surface on which to lift your vehicle.

On Sunday ( competition day), once all of the run groups have concluded, the top 3 competitors in each class will receive awards for the efforts. The season points championship will comprise of the 8 regular season events.
