What car do you drive? Year-make- model-class-modifications - future plans for the car.
Currently I drive a Mad-Max edition 2013 Ford Mustang V6 with all terrain tires that I resurrected from an insurance auction salvage sale.
How long have you been competing in RallyCross, or other motorsports/ sports?
This is my second year with RallyCross and loving it so far! I also currently race vintage jet skis and hold 2 regional championships for the ISJBA. Before that I raced the Lucas short course offroad series in limited buggy.
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of cars/ RallyCross?
Outside of RallyCross and jetski racing, I also enjoy exploring abandoned towns and mines, filming how-to videos for YouTube, and spending time with my 3 daughters.
What is one personal motorsport highlight? RallyCross or otherwise. Similarly, do you have any negative moments?
While my car may not be the first choice for this, I absolutely love driving it in RallyCross. There’s nothing like that feeling of just nailing a turn section- finding that perfect sequence of slides that just carries you right-left- and through the course in just the perfect way. A typical race I’m flying sideways into turns, red lining it on the straights, and learning new skills I never would have had otherwise. The only downside is driving the car home and wishing I could pull a drift on turns like I do on the track.
Do you have anything else you would like to share with the group, and what plans and aspirations do you have for the future?
My goal for this year is to take home the Championship for stock rear wheel drive; not sure if I’ll be able to pull it off though as our class is a collection of talented racers and unusual cars. If nothing else, racing with them is always a blast. The racers here in Rallycross are some of the friendliest and down to earth people I’ve ever encountered, and even if I raced and got last, I know I would have more fun being with them than being at home.
